The Senior Technical Writer is to clearly communicate and coordinate technical writing efforts involving contingency and crisis-action plans, standard operating procedures, briefings, memorandums, business documents, management documents and data.
Engage with assigned customers within the community to understand use cases and requirements/dependencies to provide a recommended design and technical documentation for a health and status capability and partner with civilian developers for initial implementation activities. Support systems engineering personnel in the completion of all required technical documentation.
The Senior Technical Writer will serve as a key member of the Communications team and will drive the editing and revision of all key deliverables, communications and correspondence material within a high profile Department of Defense (DoD) office.
In this role, you will develop outlines and drafts for review and approval by technical specialists and project management ensuring that final documents meet applicable contract requirements and regulations.
Provide to technical writing support the National Infrastructure Coordinating Center (NICC) within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) National Protection and Programs Directorate (NPPD) Office of Infrastructure Protection (IP).
In this role, you will write, rewrite and/or edit technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications. The selected candidate will communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences.
Support team of 7 developers in the generation, refinement, and maintenance of developer documentation, knowledge bases, wiki organization, development sync meeting minutes and action items, etc. for more effective and efficient customer and community communication. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, a must.
