Responsible for the development and implementation of efficient and effective programs for competency validation, continuing education, workforce development and patient education. Programs are based on the principles of evidenced based practice and adult learning.
Assess the needs of patients with diabetes and designs and implements and evaluates, individualized teaching plans for these patients; integrate knowledge, skills and experience to meet the needs of the patients and families.
The Nursing Practice Educator acts as the lead for the co-ordination and management of all educational activities in the Center. Additionally, the primary focus of the Nursing Practice Educator is to assist and support the translation of the Genesis nursing philosophy into practice by leading the planning, implementation and evaluation of education to enhance the knowledge and skills of caregivers.
