Evaluates and treats patients with acute, chronic complaints and health maintenance concerns; obtains complete histories and performs pertinent physical exams with assessment of normal and abnormal findings on new and return patients; performs or requests and evaluates diagnostic studies.
The Critical Care AP manages the critical care related problems and diagnoses patients assigned by the Intensivist. The Critical Care AP will also assist and perform procedures in the ICU, under the supervision of the Intensivist.
Perform patient assessment to obtain a complete and accurate record of the patient's clinical information and medical symptoms. Order tests and exams to obtain additional information needed to ensure proper and complete care of patient.
Performs post-operative procedures to include entering standard post-operative orders into patient medical records; assists physicians with evaluation and management of patients status during recovery; reviews vital signs, laboratory and diagnostic studies; assists with management of patients.
Answer questions regarding surgery or procedures, recovery and risk factor modification; provides blood transfusion information as applicable; performs peri-operative procedures; locates and utilizes diagnostic images, instruments and pertinent patient information.
The Physicians Assistant/Family Nurse Practitioner administers appropriate on-going acute, chronic, and family practice medical care services in the ambulatory care setting for clinic patients, under the direct supervision of the Clinic Medical Director or other staff physicians
