The Special Risks Underwriter is responsible for the evaluation, analysis, pricing and servicing of various warranty offerings using accepted Company procedures, standards and guidelines that have been established for various industries and product categories.
The Consumer Lending Underwriter I is a seasoned and experienced underwriter. This position has developed and maintains an extensive understanding of complex underwriting, data and trends; provides technical guidance, analyzes data and is required to make loan structure recommendations.
Main responsibilities in the role will include rendering credit decisions on incoming applications consistent with internal and insurer policies, underwriting mortgage commitments, and verifying supporting documentation.
Review complex credit applications on various types of loans; analyze applicants financial status, credit and property evaluation, corporate tax returns, personal tax returns, personal financial statements, credit reports, business reports and legal documents.
In this role, the selected candidate will underwrite new business commercial lines business of all sizes, as well as manage the independent agency relationships within the territory including agency appointments.
Ability to independently prepare well written approval presentations, including what is being requested, why it is being requested, the business and/or industry involved, the background and history of the business, risk and mitigating factors. Such presentations should also justify assigned risk rating and show the Bank policies, procedures and regulations are met.
