Reporting to the Laboratory Administrative Director and while carrying out a variety of complex procedures involving considerable independent judgment, performs chemical, microscopic, bacteriologic or specialized tests to provide data for use in the treatment and diagnosis of diseases.
The selected candidate will routinely perform a wide range of clinical diagnostic tests in all sections of the laboratory by properly utilizing a variety of molecular biology methodologies and instrumentation including next generation sequencing (NGS) technology according to laboratory policies and procedures and in accordance with all regulatory agency requirements in order to provide results of the highest level of quality to physicians and their patients.
As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will be responsible for performing moderate and high complexity testing in all departments: hematology, chemistry, microbiology, serology and blood bank, analyzing, reviewing, and reporting test results and quality control results, as well as taking remedial action when indicated.
The position will also include significant participation in novel assay development and validation. Laboratory assays cover a wide range of molecular pathology practice, including tumor somatic mutation detection, identity and clonality testing, microbiology and inherited genetics.
