The Research and Development Engineer is responsible for providing engineering knowledge, skill, and ability to handle such tasks as: project management, engineering design, prototyping development, gathering of pertinent back ground information, and leading project and design teams from conception through commercial launch of medical devices.

This position is responsible for System Design supporting both new product development, upgrades and System support of in-service products. Target product platforms may include missiles, munitions, aircraft, marine, agricultural, and other commercial applications.
In this role, the selected candidate will identify and analyze product opportunities / issues; plan, deploy, monitor and control improvements including supplier initiatives to drive product and process improvements.
Leads Risk Management (ISO 14971) activities. May leads cross functional teams in planning, analyses (DFMEA, FTA, Risk/Benefit) and mitigations. Maintains risk management file for the life of the device.
The selected candidate will be responsible for the design of circuit card assemblies based on the system hardware requirements, selecting electronic components, implementing the schematic design, directing the layout and routing of printed wiring boards, performing design analysis/simulation, and supporting system integration
Participates in design, process, and continuous improvement projects that impact limited production or customer functions; works within objectives and timelines, and involves engineering or production personnel as required to complete tasks.
Plans process flow, evaluates process capability, modifies tooling, builds tooling, and designs tooling. Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total projects.
The Design Engineer will support complex enterprise architectures by developing and implementing detailed design, configuration and engineering strategies/solutions for one or more technologies within the identity and access management domain.
