Senior Mechanical Design Engineers perform design and development in areas such as mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, thermodynamic, structures and heat transfer. Their work assists development, production and delivery of unique and highly reliable mechanical, electromechanical, electronic, optical systems, instruments, controls, and machines, many of which operate in an underwater environment.
This is a senior-level design engineering position with a focus on component and system design for controllable solid propulsion systems. Working under general direction of senior staff, the candidate will support component design and system design of thrusters, actuation systems, gas generators and system integration used in controllable solid propulsion systems.
In this role, you will have project and team management experience as well as business development skills as they develop a core competency in the Richmond Office of other mechanical and electrical engineers.
In this role, the candidate will execute complex assignments requiring the use of advanced techniques, resulting in the development of new or improved processes, equipment and/or technological methods.
