This is a senior-level design engineering position with a focus on component and system design for controllable solid propulsion systems. Working under general direction of senior staff, the candidate will support component design and system design of thrusters, actuation systems, gas generators and system integration used in controllable solid propulsion systems.
In this role, you will be responsible for
deliver technical expertise in the areas of either weapons manned or unmanned, robotic, or weapon control system concept definition, design, integration, and engineering.
In this position, you will perform moderately complex functions in the design, fabrication, modification and/or evaluation of manufacturing operations May prepare complicated plans, conduct support studies, and provide analysis or tests in the development of manufacturing operations May assign work to drafters and/or technicians and provide guidance to lower level engineers.
In this role, you will have project and team management experience as well as business development skills as they develop a core competency in the Richmond Office of other mechanical and electrical engineers.
In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for performing mechanical engineering analysis and design, mechanical engineering software tools, coordinating mechanical fabrication, and mechanical engineering test techniques.
In this role, the candidate will execute complex assignments requiring the use of advanced techniques, resulting in the development of new or improved processes, equipment and/or technological methods.
