Approve or disapprove time or personnel schedule changes in the absence on the Clinical Manager ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, policies and procedures for documenting time of work hours for staff members on assigned shift.
Serves as a liaison between hospital/system administration, departments, clinical staff to ensure cost-effective utilization of products, services and processes, including but not limited to medical/surgical supplies, capital equipment, technology, services and process-related activities.
Responsible for the delivery of excellence in patient care through assessing, formulating nursing diagnoses and establishing goals, planning and implementing intervention and evaluating patient care outcomes.
Contributes to project and organizational decision making through active participation. Assures compliance with standards of care and protocols and monitors care through quality assurance improvements.
Responsible for the development and implementation of efficient and effective programs for competency validation, continuing education, workforce development and patient education. Programs are based on the principles of evidenced based practice and adult learning.
Utilizes medical necessity criteria as a tool to assess appropriateness of level and setting of care, assists in the denial and appeals process, assesses quality and identifies and reports potential risk management issues.
Provides nursing care as directed by medical staff and in accordance with the objectives, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the state Nurse Practice Act. Maintains established standards of nursing care.
Work closely with all health care providers to facilitate and coordinate efficient, effective, and quality healthcare. Communicate effectively and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients, families, physicians, and staff.
The Staff Registered Nurse, under the direction of the Clinical Coordinator and/or Nurse Manager, is responsible for providing and/or promoting quality patient care based on the individual needs of the patient populations served.
Utilizing the nursing process, assesses, plans, provides and evaluates professional nursing care. Acts as team leader and appropriately delegates task to other team members. Identifies and intervenes to address patient and family nursing care and educational needs.
