As a Peritoneal Dialysis Registered Nurse (PD RN), you educate your patients on how to do their own dialysis from their homes, and you take responsibility for the complete ongoing care of each patient to ensure their treatment stays on track.
Provide and supervise professional, independent nursing care for Providence patients that is as evidence-based as possible. Care is based in the nursing process and is consistent with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act.
The registered nurse ( RN ) functions include working with the treatment team in a collegial manner as well as working with patients and families on a direct care basis and at times will have to take charge of the unit and make decisions on the delivery of patient care during the shift.
In this role, the selected candidate will put down one patient's chart, start another, work with a physician, run out to get a medication, respond to a supplier's request - with lots of loose ends to pull together and a lot of follow up.
