The Mechanical Design Engineer for a major international manufacturer of high voltage components used by utility companies. This position is located at the R&D facility near Akron, OH. The primary purpose of this role will be the design of new products or redesign of existing products.

In this role, the successful candidate will manage initial customer contact with possibly irate customers and ensure call is properly handled; provide remote connectivity support via any of the available methods.
In this role, the selected candidate will produce department deliverables as agreed to in contract documents on-time and within the agreed upon budget; coordinate activities with other departments and clients.
In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for analyzing experimental results using statistical tools, forming conclusions, documenting and communicating results and recommending a path forward.
In this role, the selected candidate will maintain SSD qualification requirements documents, and work with suppliers to resolve any documentation issues; you will work on the specification, development, validation, and support for products through the entire product life cycle.
In this role, you will be responsible for the supervision of mechanical maintenance crews ranging in size from 1 to 30 persons disassembling, inspecting, repairing, and reassembling large steam and gas turbine generators.
