The primary objective of this position is to
provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients under supervision and responsibility of a Physician. Surgical assistant to Orthopedic/Trauma Surgeon.
Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of physician. Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and managing infection.
In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for performing patient evaluations, reviewing pretreatment teaching, recommending therapeutic intervention, counseling patients and families and collaborating with appropriate physicians to provide other appropriate direct care interventions within the scope of practice.
Provide direct patient care services. Elicits detailed patient histories, assesses patient medical needs, initiates appropriate diagnostic testing and/or treatment and completes appropriate medical record documentation. Evaluates and treats minor illnesses and injuries.
