Responsible for the design, analysis, configuration, testing, and support of data communications networks that support control systems (machinery and ship controls) and navigation message distribution.
Act as the principal designer/engineer for networking systems and their subsystems. Utilize a thorough understanding of available technology, tools, existing designs and regulatory requirements (e.g., NERC CIP, SOX, FCC, HIPAA) policies and procedures.
Proven technical knowledge of networking technologies, tools & processes, including routing & switching, L4-7 traffic management (e.g. load balancing, DNS) and firewalls, across WAN, datacenter fabric and campus networks, as well as networking protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, MPLS, OSPF, BGP, etc.
Assist in defining firm-wide security controls for the Network environment and related infrastructure services including perimeter security, IP filters and firewalls, remote administration, account security, patch and release management.
Document all processes including emergency fail over instances, dynamic fail over designs and all around Disaster Recovery requirements, Review any applicable new technologies that may improve the firms technology footprint.
Utilize outstanding technical and communication skills to provide our enterprise clients with excellent 3rd level network support to ensure smooth and reliable operation for the fulfillment of business objectives and processes.
Uphold high standards for timely issue resolution; contribute expertise to the management of existing and new IT products and services; define workarounds for known errors and initiate process improvements.
