Responsible for supervising nursing personnel to deliver nursing care and within scope of practice coordinates care delivery, which will ensure that patient's needs are met in accordance with professional standards of practice through physician orders, center policies and procedures, and federal, state and local guidelines.
Nurses are responsible for providing IV infusion nursing care in the home or ambulatory setting, performing in-hospital discharge assessments and occasional IV hook-ups, teaching patients about their home infusion therapy, and providing ongoing monitoring of their treatment.
Provide direct care to patients who may range in age from infancy to the elderly and demonstrate competency within the domains of clinical judgment and decision - making, nurse - patient / family relationship, clinical leadership and clinical scholarship.
Performs direct patient care, utilizing established procedures, policies, and standards including: medication administration, observing and documenting patients response to pertinent medications, provides personal patient care designed to meet the patients physiological and psychological needs.
Adheres to universal precautions. Identified potential problems and initiates appropriate measures. Identifies environmental factors which deter effective patient care, initiates action, and contributes ideas towards resolution.
The primary focus of the RN is to be a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients. The RN collaborates with other care workers to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care across the continuum.
Evaluate assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse.
Provides safe and effective training, direct patient care and delivery of home dialysis therapies to patients in compliance with standards outlined in the facility policy and procedure manuals, as well as regulations set forth by the FMCNA, state and federal agencies.
