This position will demonstrate a solid understanding of Sallie Mae systems and business processes and requirements for new products/platforms/systems including system enhancements across multiple Sallie Mae Bank operational areas including some third party vendors.
Supports a strong technical services safety culture by participating in safety programs and encouraging fellow employees to perform their jobs safely. Responsible for being the one of the metrology subject matter experts in the project team.
Develop scripted manual tests to deterministically assure that the software system is performing as specified by the requirements.Develop automated solutions for testing various aspects of the system that can be leveraged continuously and more precisely than manual testing.
Must have the ability and desire to see a project through to a successful conclusion which should include our being either awarded the customers packaging business or the retention of the business we already have.
The Software Engineer I is responsible for the design, implementation, quality assurance, test, maintenance and evolution of the software designed, even in the face of challenging, changing and evolving business cases, requirements, realization technologies and other forces (e.g., strategic changes approaching the project).
Work with project managers to ensure that projects for scope, schedule, and cost are on track, as well as interface with users, peers, management, and global counterparts to ensure stakeholder requirements are understood and integrated into the project scope.
The primary function of the QA Engineer is to assist in the creation of test scenarios, development and execution of manual and automated test cases, analysis of results, detection of defects, and validation of bug fixes.
