The Advanced Practice Provider (CRNP/PA-C) will become an autonomous member of a multi-disciplinary Heart Team and will be responsible for initial and ongoing cardiovascular assessments serving a population with complex valvular heart disease.
The Advanced Practice Provider, while providing quality care across the continuum in collaboration with physicians, nursing staff and other members of the care team, performs histories, physicals, and procedures as outlined in privileging agreement.
In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for managing patients requiring mechanical support; working closely with physician providers at many levels we are an integral piece of a multidisciplinary team.
The Advanced Practice Provider is responsible to promote organizational values of patient and visitor satisfaction by demonstrating courtesy and respect for all their families, visitors, and other employees.
In this role, the selected candidate will provide support and clinical expertise to nursing personnel regarding complex patient care issues; participate in collaborative appraisal of his/her own practice with PA peers including mandatory compliance with peer review requirements.
The CRNP / PA will collaborate with the physician in providing safe care with optimal outcomes for the patient and must have the necessary knowledge, skills, and judgment specific to clinical practice.
The Advance Practice Provider will provide quality care across the continuum in collaboration with the physicians and fellows and be expected to manage patient care autonomously within the scope of their professional practice.
Involves participation in the Divisions Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives and Unit-Based Clinical Leadership (UBCL). Opportunities for professional growth and development are available through research, lecturing, publications and involvement in department and hospital projects and committees.
The CRNP /PA hired by the Department of Advanced Practice will be held accountable through a formal job description, through the delineation of privileges, and through their agreement with their collaborating or supervising physician who has initiated a Collaborative / Supervising Practice Agreement.
The successful Nurse Practitioner candidate will work in collaboration with the physician and have a certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners or be eligible to hold national certification that allows the NP to work with the patient populations and location settings associated with this position.
