The CRNP /PA hired by the Department of Advanced Practice will be held accountable through a formal job description, through the delineation of privileges, and through their agreement with their collaborating or supervising physician who has initiated a Collaborative / Supervising Practice Agreement.
The CRNP / PA will collaborate with the physician in providing safe care with optimal outcomes for the patient and must have the necessary knowledge, skills, and judgment specific to clinical practice.
Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
The successful Nurse Practitioner candidate will work in collaboration with the physician and have a certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners or be eligible to hold national certification that allows the NP to work with the patient populations and location settings associated with this position.
Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examinations, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a physician.
Performs and / or participates in rounds of hospitalized patients, including physical assessment, interpretation of diagnostic studies, interaction with nursing staff and documentation in medical record.
The Advanced Practitioners will provide quality care across the continuum in collaboration with the physicians and fellows and be expected to manage patient care autonomously within the scope of their professional practice.
