The responsibilities will be support of z/TPF (Transaction Process Facility) on one or more customer accounts. z/TPF is a high-speed, high-volume, highly available operating system used in large reservation systems and financial processing.
The Quality Engineer is responsible for facilitating the continuous improvement of business processes; maintaining an ISO 900/14001/18001 compliant quality system; and communicating key quality concepts.
Work concurrently with design engineering to improve overall cost and efficiency of manufacture throughout the entire development process. Establish effective and efficient manufacturing processes, work instructions, and process control plans. Apply state-of-the art technology to meet increasingly competitive business needs.
The Quality Engineer will be heavily involved in developing and maintaining Work Instructions, Control Plans, APQP, PPAP and PFMEA documents, and he or she is expected to participate and lead 8D investigations.
In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing tests, debugging and defining corrective actions. You will also review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics.
The Engineer II - Quality is responsible for performing the activities associated with the Watlow Quality Management Systems and assisting other functional areas with improvement in current or new processes or products.
Searching for an individual with a B.S. in Engineering or similar, three or more years experience in a food production environment, and expertise with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and related processes. Certified Black Belts are preferred.
