The primary responsibility of the role is to prepare and manage the preparation of a broad range of individual, corporate, trust and other entity tax returns, including those with high degrees of complexity.
In this role, you will oversee the outsource process of all U.S. jurisdictional sales/use tax returns to ensure they are filed accurately and timely in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and rulings in effect for all Scholastic business units.
In this role, you will be responsible for staying informed of all changes to statutory filings, obligations, and laws, including form changes, through research and daily/weekly update review, and ensure proper tax compliance occurs. The selected candidate will resolve issues raised in the preparation, and review of the individual components of the return, and first review as directed by the Director.
In this role, the selected candidate will introduce and develop new or improved ideas to improve the position of clients, the Firm, or Firm personnel, e.g., by reducing taxes or expenses or providing non-tax benefits.
The Core Tax Services Manager is responsible for advising clients on the tax implications of their business objections, evaluating and selecting alternative actions to lessen tax burden and cost of compliance, identifying different methods of complying with tax regulations while acting as the primary client contact for complex tax issues.
