In this role, you will provide therapeutic treatment and instruction to patients in accordance with physician orders to improve/restore strength, coordination, range-of-motion and function or teach compensation measures.
Assess/screen patient's daily living/work-related skills and develop therapeutic retraining programs with measurable objectives. Administer and interpret diagnostic and prognostic tests of function to patients in their homes or other settings to assist the physician in evaluating the patients level of function.
Develop appropriate treatment goals and methods in collaboration with the patient and caregivers, implements the occupational therapy treatment plan, and completes all related documentation and record keeping regarding these services.
The Registered Occupational Therapists function is to perform a thorough evaluation of patients assigned to them, and to establish goals and plan of care to meet the needs of said patients as outlined in the Rehabilitative Services.
Provides occupational therapy evaluation, treatment, and consultation independently to typical patients and less common patients within a program under the prescription of a physician and within the guidelines designated by departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
