Provides professional nursing direct patient care in compliance with professional practice and unit standards; promotes a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients, families and all members of the care delivery team.
Assist with maintaining compliance to professional nursing standards and regulatory requirements and will support physicians in delivering quality health care to patients taking into account the patients' individual physical or age-related needs.
In this role, the selected candidate will put down one patient's chart, start another, work with a physician, run out to get a medication, respond to a supplier's request - with lots of loose ends to pull together and a lot of follow up.
In this role, you will provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about various health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their family members.
Work closely with other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure all patient and family care needs are being met.Work in collaboration with the Patient Care Manager and the Interdisciplinary Team in the planning, implementation and evaluation of medical and nursing care.
Be accountable for the delivery of coordinated, safe, compassionate, therapeutic, evidence-based quality care to patients and families, based on individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and appropriate care strategies throughout the lifespan.
In this role you will under supervision of a charge nurse, assists in the assessment of the physical, psychological and social dimensions of patients in the health care unit and, as necessary, in the housing units.
