The Test Facilities Operation, Maintenance and Engineering (TFOME) team at the NASA Glenn Research Center provides engineering and technical services in the areas of aero-propulsion and space propulsion and power test facilities.
The main role of the Manufacturing Engineer is to lead the sites productivity programs and to assist in selected HOS initiatives. This position will cross all lines of the business from Design engineering to the operations and equipment used on the shop floor to manufacture our product.
In this role, the selected candidate must have strong Electrical and Mechanical background (PLC, Robot, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, AutoCAD); understand the use of CMMS systems and Root Cause Failure Analysis.
In this role, you will execute packaging technology strategies in the plants, including growth initiatives, quality improvements, productivity/cost-reduction activities, troubleshooting activities and general packaging support as needed.

develop and prepare complete manufacturing processes for product hardware of above average complexity in order to meet/exceed the departmental goals of L.U., MPS, and scrap and lead time.
The Manufacturing Engineer plans, designs, and supports manufacturing processes in industrial plant; maximize efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization; determine parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification.
