The Cost Accountant maintains and monitors cost and manufacturing accounting processes for all Akron Brass locations. The Cost Accountant is responsible for the timely and accurate collection and reporting of cost related financial information and cost variance analysis.
The cost accountant is responsible for managing the month end cost rolls, participating in the month end close process as well as interpretation of operational reporting, monitoring of actual results, forecasting, planning and analysis. The role also assists the Controller with developing the annual plant budget, capital spending proposals and new product costing.
In this role, the selected candidate will oversee inventory control, month end reconciliations, cycle counts and physical counts; perform annual, quarterly, and monthly planning/budgeting and forecasting.
In this role, you will be responsible for
assisting external auditors with annual auditing process. Executing cost accounting functions, including establishing standard cost, understanding direct labor and inventory and analyzing cost of goods sold.
In this role, the selected candidate will maintain monthly inventory valuation models, generating monthly inventory reports, coordinating annual physical inventory counts, preparing annual inventory audit schedules, and working to introduce cycle counting procedures.
The cost accountant position is accountable for the ongoing analysis of process constraints, target costing projects, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying activities. The cost accountant must also construct and monitor those cost-effective data accumulation systems needed to provide an appropriate level of costing information to management.
In this role, you will the selected candidate will
participate in month-end close, including preparation of required journal entries, account reconciliations and month-end analysis packages for submission to HQ.
The Accountant is responsible for performing cost accounting functions including cost estimating, standard costing, variance analysis, budgeting and financial forecasting Area manufacturing facilities.
In this role, the selected candidate will prepare various financial analysis reports accurately and in a timely manner; assists with preparation of US GAAP reporting as well as loading data into HFM software.
