In this role, the selected candidate will participate in the completion of Performance Appraisals for nursing and support staff; management of a unit for a specific shift in the absence of the Nurse Manager, as well as liaison between the physician, patient and family.
The Assistant Nurse Manager functions as an RN leadership member of the healthcare team in a manner consistent with their scope of practice in Pennsylvania in concert with the policies and procedures of St. Christophers Hospital for Children.

Provides perioperative care, independently managing circulating and scrub responsibilities for all surgical cases regardless of complexity, instability, and unpredictability of outcomes; serves as a clinical resource person for others; cross scrubs for all surgical teams; assumes relief charge, team leader and preceptor responsibilities.
Responsible for the delivery of evidence-based patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
The assistant nurse manager will establish partnerships, under the direction of the nurse manager to assure all levels of nursing staff are working in a partnership relationship. Collaborate with education to assure all required programs are scheduled and attended.
