In this role, you will provide the highest level of care across one or more of our hospital units and ensure your patients' safety, comfort, and well-being with a patient to nurse ratio typically not more than 2:1.
To improve the quality of life of patients and families by coordinating patient care processes of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in collaboration with the patient, family, physician, and appropriate support services for the age population served, as defined in the department's scope of service.
The School Nurse will use clinical knowledge and judgment to provides health care to students and staff and serves as a liaison between school personnel, family, community and healthcare providers to advocate for health care and a healthy school environment.
Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse.
Provide day to day guidance, support and direction to direct patient care staff, providing informal feedback on an ongoing basis and formal feedback input for the annual performance evaluation. Participate in the department staffing and the appropriate hiring, firing and disciplinary actions. Recommend disciplinary action to Clinical Manager and initiate as appropriate.
Registered Nurses are responsible for providing IV nursing care in the home or ambulatory setting, performing in-hospital discharge assessments and occasional IV hook-ups, teaching patients about their home infusion therapy, and providing ongoing monitoring of their treatment.
