Supervise, coordinate and evaluate systems and personnel in the departments of the Laboratory at Marin General Hospital. Departments of oversight include: Clinical Laboratory Main hospital, Off-site Outreach Program, EKG, Blood Bank, Pathology, and Microbiology. Oversee the fiscal and technical activities of these departments to ensure efficient operation.

The Laboratory Director is responsible for maintaining AABB (Relationship Testing) and American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors (ASCLD) accreditations and appropriate state forensic and paternity certifications.
The successful candidate for the position will have a background in medical and clinical microbiology in a university or large health system setting, and will provide technical innovation and oversight, maintain competency of staff, and consult with clinical services.
The Associate Director will help to oversee the Histocompatibility Laboratory, new clinical test development and implementation, participate in the laboratorys quality improvement and accreditation processes, and contribute to the mission of Clinic through participation in patient care, clinical/translational research, and teaching.
Assist in design and execution of scientific metabolomics experiments in collaboration with
bioinformatics, analytical chemistry and cell biology staff to facilitate validation and transfer of new assays into the CLIA facility.
Plans and directs the activities and functions of the Clinical Laboratory to ensure highest quality developmentally appropriate patient care consistent with established professional, regulatory and governmental standards and guidelines.
