The chosen candidate will serve as a senior Java developer on the Electronic Trading technology team. The team focuses on building a Java based low latency algo trading framework as well as analytics tools, backtesting infrastructure, and visualization components.
Design and implement solutions for integrating products with those of its clients; This usually involves development in C++ and/or Java; implement and support trading workflows and strategies to suit client needs
Perform complex analysis, design, development, testing, and debugging of computer software in support of distinct product hardware or technical service lines of businesses. Perform activities ranging from software design and operating architecture integration to computer system selection.
A qualified candidate will be expected to analyze industry trends and competitor actions, then adjust coverage forms accordingly; evaluate and implement pricing adjustments by individual state marketplaces to maintain profitability; develop and implement business plans to maximize profit and growth for individual state portfolios with profit and loss accountability.
Work with project managers, technical leads, business owners and analysts in all phases of the whole software development lifecycle, including: requirement gathering, application design, system development, testing and implementation.
Build new application components, create and optimize complex SQL, integrate and extend existing application frameworks, libraries and utilities; partner with other onshore and offshore developers, oversight of offshore developers.
Ensure adherence to continuous improvement practices as required to meet quality/time to market imperatives;collaborate with architects, engineers and analysts to implement enhancements or new applications.
Expert level Java developer, server-side, 3 to 7 years. Deep understanding of concurrent, multi-threaded application environments; Front-end UI technologies are highly desirable Java Swing, Java Script, HMTL, Active Flash, C#. Knowledge of Web containers Apache, JBoss.
