In this role, the selected candidate must have understanding of financial statements and ratios used in risk analysis; understanding of insurance financial fundamentals; impact of underwriting decisions on company assets.
The Senior Underwriter will perform underwriting of construction and permanent financing for multifamily housing that utilize tax exempt and taxable bonds, tax credits, as well as a variety of housing subsidy loan sources deployed by the agency.
In this role, the selected candidate will review insurance applications to evaluate, classify and rate each risk to determine acceptability, coverage and pricing, identify, develop and maintain agency relationships in order to ensure corporate growth, retention, and profitability goals are met.
In this role, the successful candidate will develop and manage underwriting strategies for both renewals and prospects within his/her portfolio of accounts, including knowledge of the current penetration by product, cross marketing penetration by product and specific plans to increase company share.
