Under minimal to no supervision, the Sr. Accountant applies Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in preparing complex financial reports and various analyses to be used for management review.
This position of Senior Accountant is a member of Company's Corporate Finance team dedicated to the consolidation, financial reporting and other finance-related deliverables relating to their Publishing Division.
Execution of monthly global general ledger month end close, ensuring accurate results are delivered on time for reporting in accordance with IFRS; perform assigned journals, accounts reconciliation and fluxes.
Reporting daily cash transactions and balances to internal management and the monthly reporting of cash balances; reviewing cost requisitions and employee expense reports for adherence to Company policy and guidelines.
In this role, the Senior Accountant provides accounting, reporting, investment monitoring and oversight, tax planning and compliance, and other services to affluent individuals, families and executives and their businesses.
Assist in the development and maintenance of internal controls over the corporate accounting function; prepare monthly close, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and management reporting.
Manage the retention and preparation of tax records, tax returns, and other required reports and assist in all aspects of the tax provision; complying with internal control procedures related to the Tax Function; and assessing the impact of the organization's tax liability.
Evaluate compliance with contract accounting GAAP, including review of unit-of-accounting determination, revenue recognition method selected, actual job cost accumulation, including net realizable value of inventory, and appropriateness of unbilled, billings-in-excess, accrued warranties, and loss contract reserves.
