The Registered Nurse uses evidence based knowledge and practices within the nursing process supported by the theoretical framework of Human Caring and along the development continuum of novice to expert.
In this role, the selected candidate will perform diagnostic and procedural coding for Emergency Department medical records. Utilize the paper-based and online representation of the medical record, review, abstracts and apply appropriate diagnostic coding, facilitate level E&M coding, and APC assignment of Emergency Department patient records according to coding guidelines as applicable.
This position guides, directs, teachers, evaluates and counsels unit staff in providing professional care while complying with policy and procedures. She/he acts as a clinical educator implementing the nursing practice model, nursing process and provides direct patient care as needed.
