In this role, you will deliver quality nursing care to patients through interpersonal contact and provides care and services to allow patients to attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations.
This position is responsible for performing clinical retrospective review in accordance with the application of medical necessity criteria using the Medical Management software system and M & R criteria (nationally accredited criteria set); consulting with physician advisors, providers, and members to assist them in their understanding of the requirements of their health plan and to ensure proper information is recorded in the case summary.
The care begins with Pre-Admission Testing, the preoperative phase and continues throughout the PACU/postoperative phase. The RN is a member of the inter-disciplinary team along with OR RN, Surgeon, and Anesthesia Staff.
