Maintains file servers, network access; documents, analyzes and troubleshoots system anomalies to ensure optimum equipment performance, prepares system for operational use and support operational tests.
The candidate will also be expected to cross-train in order to provide first level support in a cross platform environment that includes technologies such as VMware vSphere, Windows Server and related services, Cisco routers, switches and firewalls, and Mac OSX Server.
The System Administrator position reports to the Manager of Technical Operations and is responsible for helping to architect and support a scalable and reliable infrastructure. Candidates should have a Bachelors Degree in a technical field and/or 5+ years of experience as it pertains to the duties and requirements for this position.
Maintain system patches, as well as operating system, in accordance with Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance; coordinate and plan authorized system interruption (ASI details), as needed.
The SA is responsible for supporting groups of computers and other technology devices that are interconnected and communicate using different computer technologies, such as local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN). The SA is responsible for both the hardware and software that is required to build, configure and maintain a LAN and/or WAN.
The candidate will be supporting a branch office which will entail providing user support to local users including imaging and upgrading laptops and assistance with the use of software packages utilized by CapTech employees.
