Responsible for achieving standards of care, collaborating with physician providers and other team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized patient care in accordance with the current policies and procedures.
As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the RN will educate patients about their disease process, while assisting providers guide patients in understanding and realizing compliance with their individualized treatment plans, often coordinating care with primary care and other providers.
This position will coordinate clinic activities of other healthcare professional, ensure compliance with UNC outpatient clinic policies and procedures, and monitor required trainings and education for healthcare staff.
Our unit has 32 beds available to serve the varying needs of our patient population including a 7 bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. We are focused on providing highly collaborative, patient centered care which ensures great outcomes.
The RN UNIT REGISTERED NURSE delivers quality nursing care to patients through interpersonal contact and provides care and services to allow patients to attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.
Perform a complete assessment of assigned patient's ongoing physical and emotional status, level of competency, home environment, safety factors and family support available to assist with care and needs of patient.
The ideal candidate will have experience with chronically ill patients, and the coordination of their care. Acting as a liaison between the patient and the rest of the medical team is another key responsibility.
