Responsible for the implementation of project and process support activities toward attainment of departmental and plant goals; primary focus in areas of capacity expansion, quality/waste improvement and cost improvement programs.
Participates in plants EHS policies and procedures by ensuring that all processes and modifications to existing processes have been critically reviewed for process safety, risk management, environmental, and general safety and health considerations in accordance with regulatory requirements (OSHA, PSM and EPA RMP) and the companys Process Safety Standards.
As a member of a project team, provides mechanical engineering leadership in the design, build, installation and commissioning of corning optical communications manufacturing systems. Provides technical leadership in all aspects of equipment design for new deployments and modification of existing equipment.

The Manufacturing/Process Engineer Supports, monitors, regulates and controls the battery manufacturing process for safety, quality, productivity and performance. Ownership, understanding and committed improvement of plant and department metrics is expected. It is also expected that the Engineer will perform varied and somewhat complex work where independent judgment and action is exercised.
Develop scope or work and/or specifications for fire protection, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing, general construction, and related systems for facilities and/or production projects. Procure design services by contract as needed.
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer operates within the Charleston, SC Machining Center of Excellence and will focus on execution and implementation of best machining practices, including process troubleshooting and improvement, new product introduction, and advancements in machining technologies.
The primary function of this role is to provide to develop and implement new equipment, set up new processes, and lead continuous improvement projects. This may include process flow development, equipment specifications, process documentation, operator training, project management, preventative maintenance planning, equipment trouble-shooting, tooling development, and root-cause analysis.
