Provide thought leadership on challenging data science problems that aim to make Groupon's marketplace more efficient. Example challenges include: Closing the right merchants, ensuring merchant success, predicting customer CLTV, predicting merchant performance, developing ensemble models, etc.
Working through the full flow of very challenging data problems anywhere from data cleaning, to building a concept of the model to extracting the right features and testing the model to drive better decision making through various data and statistical modeling techniques, algorithm development involving real-world noisy data.
Our ideal candidate will have a strong computational background (complimented by Statistics/Math/Algorithmic expertise), a healthy portfolio of dealing with Big Data, a passion for empirical research, a solid understanding of machine learning algorithms, and will absolutely love finding meaning in multiple imperfect, mixed, varied, and inconsistent data sets.
Work with customers and internal stakeholders to define hypotheses and models. We are dealing with all aspects of Business-to-Business sales and marketing problems and first to apply data science to them.
This person will work regularly with every part of Chegg, balance multiple efforts, and leverage other analytics team members and their skills to deliver insights. The ideal candidate is excited about joining our teams mission to help students save time, save money and get smarter.
Provide incredible and inspiring Data Science instruction; support the design and teaching of new products and courses and infuse their expertise into our business operations; and continually sharpen their skills through consulting and passion project explorations.
Will architect and design new software product features, help drive projects to completion, define system technical use cases and architecture specification in alignment with business/product requirements.
