The Senior Accountant assists in preparation of external reporting; performs technical accounting research; assists in development of accounting policies; assists financial reporting systems team with monthly consolidation process including coordination of data uploads and BPC account update/mapping process.
The Sr. Staff Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager and manages all accounts receivable and accounts payable activities. This role also assists in the monthly general ledger close, balance sheet and income statement analysis, and balance sheet and income statement presentation.
Responsibilities include the preparation and analysis of consolidated financial statements, budget assistance and participate in the preparation of the reporting package to be presented to executive management.
Review and analyze property budgets and help prepare the fund/accounts annual budget and strategic plan. Determine appropriate cash distributions considering property objectives and fund/account strategic plans.
The Senior Accountant is a key contributor to the day-to-day accounting operations of the Reyes Fleet Management structure. The position is intended to provide a broad range of accounting and finance support and analysis to the Reyes Fleet Management Operation.
Research and interpret changes in accounting and financial reporting policies, and make recommendations when necessary. Review analysis, financial reporting, journal entries, reconciliations, and audit work papers.
The position requires strong analytical, technical accounting research, and communication skills, along with the desire to lead various initiatives, make a positive impact and grow within the organization.
In this role, the selected candidate will establish and coordinate physical inventory and cycle counting process; investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues, tracing back to underlying activities.
The person in this role will also be responsible for recording revenue/commissions and provide analysis of budget to actual and explain variances. They will prepare monthly account reconciliations, provide cost of sales analysis and record accruals.
The Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting in the preparation, review and coordination of external financial filings, including filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
