In this role, you will be responsible for directing Medication Usage Evaluation (MUE) studies and Performance Improvement (PI) programs which are required by the hospital in order to meet the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals (JCAHO) standards or the hospitals internal PI programs.
The Clinical Pharmacist monitors, evaluates and makes recommendations to assure the appropriate and effective use of pharmaceuticals for patient care. Supervises technicians by allocating and coordinating work flow. Guides and advises technicians in more complex phases of their work. Trains new employees. Assumes responsibility for line supervision in the absence of the Manager.
The position will perform clinical review of prior authorization requests, coordinate the distribution of clinical drug information, and educate providers and staff regarding the appropriate use of pharmaceutical treatment regimens.
