Provide clinical care for patients including assessment, diagnosis/treatment of illness, ordering and interpreting medical diagnostics, chronic illness management, wellness care, prescribing of medications, treatments, therapy, medical equipment, etc.
The provision of care includes but is not limited to comprehensive evaluation, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescription of pharmacologic agents and treatments, non-pharmacologic therapies, and counseling patients.
The Advanced Practice Clinician (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) provides health care services in the clinic setting. This may include the provision of primary and preventive healthcare services as well as care for acute illness and injury.
The NP PA will work with a high level of autonomy as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of physicians, fellows, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, dieticians and transplant coordinators.
