The Senior Buyer actively participates in the company-wide procurement process, which includes strategic sourcing, supplier and contract negotiation, project management, cost management, program compliance and supplier relationship management.
Plans, organizes and manages warehouse relocation, expansion, start-up, and improvement programs. Analyzes material handling process and determines methods, procedures and equipment for increasing productivity and efficiency.
Monitors and respond to issues and opportunities resulting from deviations in plan variances; maintains relationships with vendors and interacts with the vendor community within Sears standards and codes of ethics.
Purchase and expedite both materials and completed parts to support production, releasing orders to vendors using MRP reports; communicate and assess daily issues, including engineering changes, specification changes, deviations, etc., to ensure no shortages to production needs.
