An advanced nurse practitioner or physician assistant licensed in Florida, responsible and accountable for evaluating and treating inmates with psychiatric and mental health conditions upon referral. Will act as a consultant to the psych nursing staff.
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will perform health assessments, medical histories and physical examinations; prepare physician orders, see follow-up patients independently; request/evaluate diagnostic tests; prescribe medications; provide patient education and instruction per supervising physician.
The psychiatric nurse practitioner reports to the Executive Director for Counseling & Consultation Services and is responsible for providing outpatient psychiatric evaluation and treatment for NIU students including medication management, referral, and patient education.
The Nurse Practitioner (NP), as part of the Clinical Operations Team, provides clinical assessment and care to assigned patients including assessments of health plan members in their homes and in facilities.
