In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of new technical cooperative research projects and government funded projects resulting in revenue for the Ground Vehicle Standards Business Unit including review of work products, budgeting, financial projections and management of outside experts.
The candidate should have experience in the automotive industry, aluminum die casting, developing new projects, customer liaison on current and new business, interaction with a global team, providing guidance and managing technical strategies, customer development, mechanical design principles, FEA, engineering documentation, quality systems, GD & T, etc.
In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for monitoring multiple tasks of varying scope and scale simultaneously to ensure budgetary and scheduling restrictions are adhered to and comply with stated objectives.
In this position, you will lead the development of functional specifications that fully define project and product, including cost, performance criteria, scope, capital equipment request/justification, etc.
In this role, you will establish staffing levels required to support assigned functions, develops budgets for engineering programs, monitors performance to budges and managers variances, and initiates program or project approval for inclusion in the business plan.
