Responsible for designing, developing, and updating required technical documentation; responsible for technical writing/ editing for all types of documentation produced within a modern software development environment.
As a member of the SOP/Principles of Operation (BAE Systems) Editorial Support Team you will write and edit weapon system operating procedures and related documentation to include but not limited to, governing documents, correspondence, and work instructions.
Responsible for the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of technical documents including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation. Writes and edits technical documentation for all of the departments marketing needs.
Duties may also include direct interface with our customers and with internal management, coordination of production and distribution schedules, and managing various production tasks including printing, assembling, packaging, and distributing both paper and electronic documentation packages. As these documents are used in support of weapon system maintenance and operation, attention to detail is a must.
Interface with technical professionals in the writing, editing, and publication of various types of documents such as specifications, Standard Operating Procedures, manuals, reports, plans, training material and presentations.
Communicates effectively with all levels of management, business units (Corporate and International), and possesses a high degree of flexibility/selectivity in prioritizing business unit and plant projects to meet established goals.
Writes, rewrites and/or edits technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences.
The technical writer will also prepare documentation in support of milestone decisions and reviews for the overall acquisition process, and will assist program and product managers in developing obligation plans, p&r forms, weapon system reviews, and program objective memoranda.
Writes a variety of technical articles, reports, brochures, and/or manuals for documentation for a wide range of uses. May be responsible for coordinating the display of graphics and the production of the document.
The Technical Writer shall possess the knowledge and skills needed to prepare, review, revise, certify and control instructional documentation, including system and software requirements, applications, and features for hands-on exercises that are delivered as part of the training program.
