The Medical Ontology Research (MOR) project requires the services of an experienced programmer to develop and maintain software tools in support of research at the Lister Hill National Center for Biomedical Communications (LHNCBC), National Library of Medicine (NLM).
Perform software development as part of a team of 8 (7 developers, 1 SA) in an agile environment with 2 week sprints supporting middle/back tier development and customer outreach, including monthly user group meetings and dev syncs.
Assist in development of the Windows Development and Production Environment (WDPE), which is a project that is mandated to establish standards for development and production support for application systems on a Windows platform.
The Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements.
Must have at least 3 years of the experience must have been as a software engineer supporting software architecture development, requirement analysis, process execution and evaluation, selection and evaluation of COTS/GOTS tools, and integration (with both new and existing systems).
