Leading Security Engineers in the performing of all procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction.
Support lead engineers in lab-based and analytical R&D efforts to enhance security and interoperability and assist the Army with designing, developing, configuring, testing, and evaluating Computer Network Defense (CND), Security Incident Event Management (SIEM), and McAfee ESM systems, applicable GOTS or COTS, and open source Cyber products for optimizing Army Cyber Defense Operation (CDO) solutions.
Responsible for applying a combination of expert engineering knowledge of enterprise IT and security solutions to design, develop and/or implement solutions to ensure they are consistent with enterprise architecture security policies
This includes signal processing workflow management, signal data analysis, infrastructure design, maintenance, and integration work such as the configuration of virtualized environments, encryption, unique product installations and configurations.
Performs software requirements analysis, system integration activities, leads research, designs, develops and tests software and tools, to include development of new work products or enhancing existing applications, systems or embedded products.
The candidate shall be familiar with secure coding practices, and be able to provide solutions to remediate security vulnerabilities through risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and static code analysis. In addition to security solutions for new product development, the role requires remediating vulnerabilities with existing products which requires detailed attention to implementation and product risk.
Assist in the evaluation of industry offerings to identify products and technologies with the potential to support the security design, and troubleshoot and problem solve technical and non-technical issues.
The Ideal candidates will have the ability to lead CNO Analyst/Programmers in daily tasks, setup and configure version control software (i.e. Subversion, CVS, etc.), debug software and troubleshoot issues, and create and brief technical presentations.
