Assist in establishing a growth plan for the network to insure the best quality service in a state-of-the-art environment. Assists the Network Supervisor in designing and managing the enterprise network including wide area and local area networks.
Support hardware and systems engineering efforts and provide maintenance and sustainment for existing and new government systems. Assist with full life cycle support for critical systems in both operational and test environments.
Leverage expertise in network engineering to design, test, and deploy network solutions in DoD environments. Implement firewall solutions, set up and evaluate the utility of VPN products, design network architectures in accordance with applicable DoD security requirements, and document the network design.
Provides specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network systems.
Provides consultation, support, and guidance to organizations and clients. Leads various network projects providing technical support to the client and assist in the resolution of complex network problems.
Recommends voice, video, and data network solutions to management and customers based on results of independent assessment of current and future network performance, stability, and network management issues.
This position requires an an in-depth understanding of Network Infrastructure Design as it relates to the architecture/topology of software/hardware/networks, including LANS/CANS/WANS, their components & associated protocols & standards, and how they integrate with one another.
