As a Staff Registered Nurse (Hemodialysis RN) you see your patients three to four times each week for a few hours at a time; while they receive their treatments. The dialysis lifestyle can be very trying for our patients. By forming relationships with them, our nurses understand each patient's unique needs and help ease some of their burden.
The Staff Nurse acts as a patient teacher and advocate, assisting the patient in seeking information, assuring the patient has the opportunity for informed consent for treatment decisions, and promotes the maximum level of patient-desired independence.
In this role, you will be responsible for the general course of all patients on the shift, as well as the general condition of all patients in the unit; draws upon this knowledge to individualize treatments.
In this role, the selected candidate ensures patient safety related but not limited to, medications and procedures utilizing the five rights; patient falls; decubitus prevention and prevention of nosocomial infections.
