The Litigation Paralegal will be responsible for discovery and trial preparations. The Litigation must have a paralegal certificate and trial prep experience. The Paralegal opportunity offers stellar benefits, including 100% paid medical benefits.
The Paralegals primary responsibility will be to support and provide paralegal services to the VP-AGC, Senior Counsel, Corporate Counsel and other assigned attorney(s), drafting physician and non-physician contracts in Physician Integration.
Maintains statistical and documented information related to cases and/or Company issues.Works with appropriate departments/functions within the Company to ensure implementation of policies or actions when necessary.
The ideal Legal Assistant will have experience with pre-litigation from client intake to demand letter. This Legal Assistant will acquire medical and police records, open insurance claims, negotiate property damage claims, and prepare demand packages.
Examine all documents posted each day on various legal databases, determine Universals obligations under these agreements and then ensure that all dates are tracked accurately and Universal fulfills all obligations under the agreements.
Preparing and maintaining minute books and other corporate records, coordinating matters relating to subsidiary boards and shareholder meetings, preparing written consents, gathering approvals and signatures, ensuring that all companies maintain good standing status in various jurisdictions, responding to requests from internal personnel for corporate records and information.
This role will support the IP innovation and technology practices in the Intellectual Property legal department. Implementing and tracking invention evaluation and review processes, and documenting patent committee review determinations.
The legal assistant must have a strong background filing in state courts. Legal assistant candidates must be proficient with Microsoft Office. Legal assistants with a familiarity with Timeslips software is a plus.
