The PCU RN performs patient care under the direction of the Charge Nurse, Clinical Coordinator/ Supervisor, and Nursing Director. The PCU RN provides therapeutic and administrative services necessary for the care of the patient and in support of the Mission, Vision, and Philosophy of Nursing of Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Care is provided in a patient and family centered environment and in collaboration with physician and ancillary departments.
Performs a complete assessment of assigned patient's ongoing physical and emotional status, level of competency, home environment, safety factors and family support available to assist with care and needs of patient.
Responsible for providing IV nursing care in the home or ambulatory setting, performing in-hospital discharge assessments and occasional IV hook-ups, teaching patients about their home infusion therapy, and providing ongoing monitoring of their treatment.
