In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for participating in the tax compliance and reporting function through conducting secondary reviews of certain complex state income tax returns, as well as conducting primary reviews and analyses of data and tax returns addressing topics such as nexus, tax base, apportionment, credits, and negotiated incentives.
Primarily responsible for management of moderate to complex indirect tax controversy and related projects. Indirect tax controversy includes state sales and use taxes and utility taxes. Maintains knowledge of indirect tax laws affecting the company, reviews and analyzes the impact of proposed tax laws, and reviews and analyzes contracts for tax implications.
In this role, you will be in charge of tax compliance, planning, review and preparation; and will supervise a small staff. They will have direct client contact and responsibility for client representation with the IRS and state tax agencies.
Thorough knowledge of the tax issues facing multinational US companies or publically traded entities, especially in the areas of tax compliance and consulting services tailored to organizations with domestic operations with the goal of tax minimization.
Considerable experience identifying and addressing client needs: building, maintaining, and utilizing networks of client relationships and community involvement; communicating value propositions; managing resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing and collections; and preparing and/or coordinating complex written and verbal materials.
