The Registered Nurse in Women's and Children's Services uses the nursing process to coordinate and provide care to patients and their families during the childbearing process or during times of illness of a family member.
Coordinates patient care with other departments, to include but not limited to, intake admission, transfers, infirmary admissions, off-site hospital admission, in-house referrals, off-site referrals, periodic and annual physicals, mandatory release, parole, and patient teaching.
Provides direct and indirect nurse driven care in the interventional pain management setting in both a procedural and clinic setting under the supervision of designated pain management physicians, director and clinic coordinator.
Primary functions are to plan, develop, implement, evaluate, organize and direct home care services with the interdisciplinary team including physician, patient/family, and referring agency; and administer skilled nursing care for clients of all ages in their place of residence and assume the responsibility for the total provision of care.
Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse.
