The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of coordinated nursing care for patient or an assigned group of patients within the Family Birthing Unit and for the day-to-day management and supervision of the related clinical activities within the area on the Nurses tour of duty.

The Registered Nurse performs nursing assessment, initiates the patient's treatment plan for identified patient needs, intervenes according to established standards of care and current acceptable nursing practice, and evaluates results of nursing care--modifying treatment plans as indicated.
